When Katia spends too long away from her bottle she: It is unknown if they're born with the bottles or if the bottles are made.Īccording to Sebastian, Genie's can freely leave their bottle but they must return to their bottle every now and then to recharge or they will grow weak. Genie's live inside magic bottles or lamps. When a Genie is trapped in a bottle and it is rubbed, they appear in a blueish, misty transparent form. They look, smell, speak and sound the exact same way as humans do when they are outside their bottles. Genie's don't differ physically from humans. It is unknown if it is possible to be a genie without first having a genie parent. Sebastian was a genie and as was his daughter Katia, although it is also unknown whether Katia's mother was a human or a genie. It seems that genie magic is genetic, that is, you can only be a genie if one or both your parents is also a genie. It is unknown if Exlee is a genie, if Katia gave her magical powers or if Exlee is a witch pet like Fluffinscruff. She can shrink herself down to fit inside Katia's bottle and size herself up to be a normal sized cat. The only other known Genie is Katia who smashed her own lamp and lost her powers.Įxlee, Katia's cat also appears to be magic. He was freed a second time by Alia and his lamp was crushed by falling debris. When Alia rubbed the lamp, Sebastian was imprisoned in it once again. It is thought he lied to Kon and Zell about his lamp breaking to prevent them from trying to find it and use it against him. Sebastian then hid the lamp inside the Cave of Shama.
A unknown man rubbed the lamp and wished for the genie to be free. It is later revealed the Sebastian's lamp didn't actually break. After his bottle broke he joined the Earth Safety Association as a scientist and inventor to better the world. According to Katia, he broke his bottle ( the Lamp of Eziz) long ago and lost his powers.
